Hi! I’m Remzi Güneralp, a 32-year-old originally from Cyprus. Currently, I reside in Rotterdam with my wife. I pursued my higher education at the University of Manchester in the UK, where I successfully completed my master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The knowledge and skills I acquired during my time there laid a solid foundation for my career.

Upon graduation, I returned to my home country, eager to contribute my expertise. I initially joined an Internet Service Provider (ISP) company as a Network Systems Engineer. Over the course of 1.5 years, I gained valuable experience in managing and maintaining network systems, enhancing my technical proficiency.

Following my tenure at the ISP company, I seized an opportunity to broaden my horizons and make a significant impact in the field of engineering. For approximately 6 years, I served as a Electrical Engineer and Laboratory Lead at the Chamber of Electrical Engineers. This role allowed me to take on diverse responsibilities, oversee laboratory operations, and collaborate with professionals in the field. It was a fulfilling experience that further enriched my understanding of electrical engineering.

However, my wife and I shared a mutual aspiration to explore new avenues and advance our careers. With a deep sense of excitement and determination, we made the decision to relocate to the Netherlands. The move presented us with the opportunity to embrace fresh challenges and pursue our ambitions in a new environment.

Currently, I find myself at Ndus3, ready to embark on the next chapter of my professional journey. I am eager to contribute my skills, expertise, and dedication to furthering the organization’s goals and making a positive impact within the industry.

What do you do in your free time?

I have an insatiable thirst for new adventures and experiences that I can share with my loved ones, including my friends, family, and especially my wife. I love traveling, exploring new places and different cultures, while creating unforgettable memories with those dear to me.  I also love F1 racing, gaming, football and watching worlds of series and films available on streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime.

What is your best quality?

My best qualities lie in my circumspection and meticulous approach, coupled with a passionate and action-oriented nature. I thrive on being precise and detail-oriented in everything I undertake.

What is your biggest study or work life blunder?

Regrettably, selecting my home country for a fresh career start has proven to be a work-life blunder. Being a small island, it suffers from a scarcity of employment opportunities, limiting my prospects.

What is your favourite tv-series or game?

When it comes to series, it’s challenging for me to pick just one favorite as I have a deep appreciation for many, but F · R · I · E · N · D · S and the Mandalorian are high on my list

When it comes to games, I have a penchant for a variety of genres. FIFA, NFS, CS:GO, God of War and Star Wars games are among my favorites.

Why did you choose this job at Ndus3?

I chose Ndus3 because it offers a work environment that making me feel right at home, as if I were among family. From the very beginning, I sensed the presence of a supportive and positive atmosphere that fosters collaboration and growth for all employees.

What drew me to Ndus3 is the belief that this organization will not only provide me with opportunities to enhance my skills and gain valuable experience but also guide me along my career development path. I am confident that being part of this team will enable me to thrive in my new career abroad. Also it will enable me to make meaningful contributions to its ongoing success and play an active role in its achievements.

What do you want to achieve in your work the coming year?

I want to expand both my software and hardware testing knowledge and also want to improve my test automation, programming, bug reporting and tracking skills.

What working-field would you like to explore or even end-up in?

I hold the belief that the industry itself doesn’t matter to me as much as my genuine passion for the work I do. The key for me is finding enjoyment and fulfilment in my chosen profession. However, being an avid gamer, it has always been a personal aspiration of mine to explore the world of game testing.

The idea of getting paid to play and test video games, ensuring their quality and providing valuable feedback, is incredibly enticing to me. Being able to contribute to the development and improvement of games, and potentially influencing the gaming experiences of others, would be a dream come true.

For what can we wake you up in the middle of the night?

To make me a wonderful surprise or to tell me I can wake up late.

What are your guilty pleasures?

  • Playing console games for hours.
  • Listening my favourite songs very loud, whether in the car, or while alone at home, without concern for how one might sound to others.
  • Enjoying a bag of potato chips, despite being aware of their unhealthy nature.
  • Getting lost in hours of mindless scrolling through social media feeds.
  • Spending hours watching multiple episodes or an entire season of a TV series in one sitting.
  • Rewatching my favourite films or TV series, repeatedly immersing myself in their familiar stories and characters.

If Ndus3 organises a weekend event in the Netherlands, what should it be?

The event should definitely be F1 Dutch Grand Prix. I would like to be at there and enjoy it together with my team through the weekend 😉
