Hello, I’m Marios, a 23-year-old individual from Cyprus currently residing in Den Haag with a roommate friend of mine. In 2023, I graduated from TU Delft with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering, and since then, I’ve been dedicated to pursuing my passion for embedded software development.

During my university journey, I consistently prioritized continuous learning and actively sought opportunities for self-development. In my second year, I interned at a digitalization company, immersing myself in the field of machine learning. This experience not only familiarized me with time-series forecasting models but also offered valuable insights into the inner workings of business operations. By that time, I felt confident that I had been exposed to a variant of different courses and soon It became evident to me that my true joy lies in the field of embedded software engineering. In my final year, I took on the role of a teaching assistant, guiding students along a path I once traversed. This experience sharpened my ability to think on my feet and offer well-prepared answers, enhancing the student learning experience through exercises and tutorials.

After completing my studies, I joined a startup company in Delft, where I tackled my first real business project—building a monitoring system to test infrastructure. This opportunity allowed me to apply my university knowledge, take initiative, and shoulder responsibility for project delivery. It served as the ideal transition from academia to the real-world work environment, preparing me for any challenges that may come my way.

Now, at Ndus3, I stand ready to embrace new challenges and engage in exciting projects. I’m enthusiastic about leveraging my knowledge and expertise to contribute to the industry, all while pursuing my goals of professional growth.

What do you do in your free time?

I’m well-known among my friends for my passion for music. Having played the violin since a young age I continued my love for classical music by joining my university’s orchestra in Delft. Beyond music, I do enjoy a healthy lifestyle with a focus on good food and exercise. Particularly, I enjoy experimenting with Mediterranean cuisine and working out during my daily routine. Bouldering and tennis are my favourite sports.

What is your best quality?

My best quality is my protective nature towards friends and loved ones. I love listening to people’s stories and I’m always eager to meet new people and engage in exciting conversations about different lifestyles.

What is your biggest study mistake?

Despite my initial belief that I could complete five courses in one quarter, my luck didn’t hold during my third year of university. In the end, I managed to pass three of them which I consider as a success.

What is your favourite tv-series or game?

My all-time favourite game is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.  I’m happy to see that the series is still going strong with new games coming out every couple of years. Today, It forms a reconnection point with some of my closest friends when we engage ourselves in the gameplay after a long time of absence.

Why did you choose this job at Ndus3?

The company’s caring atmosphere fosters a sense of family. Not only that, It also provides me with the necessary tools and programs to keep updated with new knowledge and offers a variety of project opportunities. As a recent graduate, I believe that this is a perfect opportunity for me to learn and contribute to the industry in such a delightful working environment.

What do you want to achieve in your work in the coming year?

This coming year, I’m planning to develop myself by enhancing my leadership skills. By the end of the year, I want to take more initiative decisions and improve my teamwork abilities to reach my goal of taking team-leading roles.

What working-field would you like to explore or even end-up in?

The field of embedded systems offers limitless opportunities for new projects, and I’m personally interested in writing software for PLCs or learning to build systems for IoT applications.

For what can we wake you up in the middle of the night?

The only thing that could get me out of bed in the middle of the night would be joining a Mario Kart tournament.
